We are seeking an experienced Bid Writer to join our team at Stonbury, a growing national construction company supplying specialist services to the water industry, the Environment Agency, and a broad range of private clients, holding 29 framework agreements nationally.
Key Responsibilities
As a Bid Writer, you will be responsible for developing and writing Pre-Qualification Questionnaires and Invitation to Tender responses across a wide range of services and values. You will work closely with the Bid Manager to ensure the quality of the technical aspects of each bid, ensuring the written documentation and presentations are clear, concise, and compelling. Your responsibilities will include:
• Developing and writing all technical elements of tender proposals associated with framework opportunities and one-off major projects across the UK
• Creating new content as well as editing existing content, tailoring it to suit client requirements
• Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to extract relevant information needed to produce the best technical response
• Delivering completed written responses by agreed deadlines, escalating any issues in good time to the Group Bid Manager
• Conducting sector and client research to enhance bid responses
• Providing continuous development of the bid library
• Contributing to and participating in pre- and post-tender bid meetings with clients in pursuit of securing contracts
• Liaising with our internal marketing team for potential reuse of tender proposal content
Requirements
We are looking for a confident and self-motivated individual with excellent organisational skills, able to manage situations where workload presents conflicting demands. You will have a proven ability to work with others to understand, develop, and harness knowledge and best practices both inside and outside the business. Experience in developing knowledge libraries and document management systems is also essential. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the confidence to interact with a variety of stakeholders at all levels are required.
What We Offer
In return for your hard work and dedication, you will receive a competitive salary of £55,000 to £65,000 p/a, access to opt in and out of numerous schemes using Stonbury Salary Extras, performance-related rewards, opportunities to shape our future through feedback forums and surveys, 24 days' paid holiday plus Bank Holidays, healthcare cash plan, income protection, life assurance, and 6% employer pension contribution. This is a national role, and the successful candidate can work from any one of our UK offices. Periodic UK-wide travel and occasional overnight stays will be required.
