About the Role:

Gafoor is a dynamic and rapidly growing business seeking a Nightshift Hygiene Manager to oversee the entire nightshift cleaning operation. The successful candidate will have a strong background in food manufacturing, specifically meat processing, and will be responsible for conducting regular inspections to identify areas for improvement and addressing any issues promptly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating and implementing a cleaning strategy, including cleaning schedules, microbiological swabbing, and improvement plans
  • Liaising with the Engineering, Operations, and Planning Teams to agree on the weekly hygiene schedule
  • Overseeing a team of Hygiene Operatives and ensuring training is completed and the skill level maintained within the team
  • Managing team performance through hygiene KPIs, with a clear and effective improvement plan
  • Completing hygiene audits to drive improvement and involvement in key customer audits
  • Responsible for managing chemical stocks and ensuring the hygiene team has the relevant tools for the job
  • Manage hygiene sign offs and communicate hygiene KPIs
  • Undertake investigations and root cause analysis in response to complaints or operational issues and initiate corrective actions
  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to Health and Safety standards within the department

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership qualities, able to inspire confidence and lead a multi-cultural team. A can-do attitude, able to communicate effectively at all levels, is essential. A comprehensive understanding of modern GMP and experience operating to BRC standards are also required. The ability to multitask and balance multiple priorities is crucial, as is proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of CIP systems. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills are also necessary.
