Consultant Physician in Elderly Medicine Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Geriatrician to join our team at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Elderly Care Team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.
Main DutiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert clinical care to patients with complex and frailty-related conditions. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective care plans, and contribute to the development of our services through leadership and innovation.
You will also have the opportunity to work with our Acute Frailty Unit (AFU) and Surgical Liaison teams, and contribute to the development of our new Elderly Care ward. Additionally, you will be expected to participate in the acute medical on-call rota and other clinical commitments, such as ward rounds and MDT meetings.
Person SpecificationWe are looking for a candidate with a strong background in General Adult Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, and Stroke Medicine. You should have a high level of competence in these areas, as well as leadership skills and experience of working in a multidisciplinary team.
You should also have a commitment to active clinical governance and learning from errors, and be able to demonstrate clarity in written and spoken communication.
