We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at Lakeridge Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive and inclusive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients with stable conditions
- Administer treatments as ordered by physicians and/or Nurse Practitioners
- Observe and enforce infection control principles and aseptic techniques
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Registered Practical Nurse Diploma from an accredited community college
- Current B.C.L.S.
- Current Medication Certificate with the ability to administer medications to patients
- Proven related experience working with the elderly population and/or experience working in a rehabilitation setting
- Proven recent related hospital nursing experience or experience in a long-term care setting
- Updated nursing skills including Aseptic Techniques and Patient Assessment courses
- Advanced wound care management certificate and urinary catheterization certificate
- Effective organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, and teaching skills
- Proven communication skills to effectively interact with patients and their families, physicians, and colleagues
- The ability to effectively prioritize work and multi-task
- The ability to physically lift, turn, and transfer patients manually and with the assistance of mechanical aids
- Must have a satisfactory performance record

- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety program and practices
- The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364
- Successful External applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months
