We are seeking a Telecommunications Specialist to join our Signalling and Telecommunications Infrastructure Team, responsible for ensuring that maintenance and repair operations are conducted safely and effectively.

As a Telecommunications Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Completing inspection and maintenance tasks in accordance with the established maintenance schedule.
  • Performing repairs and maintenance on signalling and telecommunications systems.
  • Supervising contractors engaged in planned maintenance activities.
  • Assisting with the testing and commissioning of new telecommunications systems.
  • Managing the switching operations of electrical substations.
  • Collaborating with external contractors for planned maintenance work.
  • Undertaking night shift duties as required by management.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A solid understanding of rail or light rail infrastructure and complex signalling and communication systems.
  • Proficiency in electrical and mechanical systems.
  • A recognized electrical qualification at Level 3 or higher.
  • Experience with computer-based diagnostic tools.
  • Strong computer literacy and written communication skills.
  • The ability to interpret and understand electrical schematics.
  • A valid driving license.

Additionally, candidates should demonstrate:

  • Competence in fibre and data maintenance, repair, and installation.
  • Experience in leading and managing a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring high performance and conduct.
  • The capability to program and interrogate parameters within safety-critical signalling software.
