About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD) to join our dynamic nursing team at Mill Garth Hospital, a 21-bed high dependency recovery and rehabilitation hospital in Leeds.

As a key member of our Multi-Disciplinary team, you will promote the best interests of our clients and carers, ensuring that prescribed nursing care is consistently implemented. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe care environment, exercising professional judgments, and working within the scope of professional practice.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver prescribed care to a defined group within an agreed framework
  • Assess, plan, and deliver nursing care that takes account of patient choice and wishes
  • Accurately observe and engage with patients to assess their needs and evaluate their progress
  • Monitor and review Nursing Care plans
  • Evaluate and respond to changes in patient conditions and needs
  • Deal proactively with suggestions and complaints from patients and their families/carers
  • Contribute to a team approach to patient care in conjunction with all members of the Multi-Disciplinary team
  • Participate in regular clinical and non-clinical meetings
  • Prioritise nursing duties and delegate appropriately
  • Maintain a continued level of personal professional development
  • Develop and maintain good professional relationships with patients, colleagues, and visitors
  • Help promote an environment conducive to meeting the needs of patients and their families/carers
  • Participate in clinical supervision and reflective practice
  • Undertake the role of Preceptor to newly qualified staff
  • Work in accordance with safeguarding adult and children policies and requirements
  • Ensure the requirements of the Mental Health, Capacity Act, and Deprivation of Liberty Standards are met
  • Adhere to Medicines Management policies
  • Adhere to Priory Group policies and protocols and the NMC code
