Splunk Observability Consultant Job Description

As a Splunk Observability Consultant, you will play a crucial role in helping our clients implement observability solutions that drive business value and improve IT operations. This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading technology company and make a real impact on the way organizations approach IT service management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Shape customer expectations and align outcomes with business requirements
  • Participate in all aspects of the initiative, from strategy discussions to delivery
  • Partner with clients and Splunk project managers to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Configure the Splunk Observability product suite to meet customer requirements
  • Facilitate workshops and sessions to capture business and technical requirements
  • Define global architecture to meet desired state vision
  • Provide technical leadership and contribute to key decision-making
  • Ensure successful delivery of desired outcomes through risk management and mitigation
  • Build and leverage relationships within client organizations and Splunk
  • Mentor client team members in their area of subject matter expertise
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in CS or relevant technical field experience
  • 3-5 years of related Observability experience
  • Experience leading project implementation teams and delivering at large enterprise clients
  • Strong technical leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interface at all levels within an organization
  • Continuous enhancement of solution knowledge and skills
  • Experience deploying observability solutions and associated infrastructure
  • Configuration experience with Windows, Linux, and system API administration
  • Strong experience in analysis, design, and technical documentation
Desired Skills:
  • Familiarity with Splunk and other cloud monitoring tools
  • Observability platforms: Splunk, Datadog, HoneyComb, New Relic, Dynatrace
  • Public cloud: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Cloud Foundry
  • Development/scripting languages: Python, Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Perl, PHP, Go
  • Configuration management: Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef
  • CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitLab
