Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Fellow to join our team at Wrexham University. The successful candidate will have a strong background in composite materials engineering and a proven track record of conducting high-quality research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and lead collaborative research in composite materials engineering, working independently and as part of a research team to achieve project goals.
  • Develop research objectives, projects, and proposals, and act as a research leader at the University.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders, and contribute to the development of researchers in all posts.
  • Utilize advanced equipment and facilities, including thermal characterisation, SEM, and FTIR microscopy, as well as impact and mechanical testing.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in composite materials engineering and apply this knowledge to drive research forward.

Requirements

  • PhD in a relevant field, such as materials science or engineering.
  • Proven track record of conducting high-quality research in composite materials engineering.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Desirable: ability to communicate in Welsh.
