Job Title: Teaching and Learning Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Teaching and Learning Assistant to join our team at Holbrook School for Autism. As a Teaching and Learning Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the education and well-being of our students with autism and associated difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Class Teacher in delivering a person-centred curriculum that promotes independence, confidence, and academic and life skills.
  • Work with students with complex needs, including ADHD, SLD, and SEMH, to develop their social, emotional, and behavioural skills.
  • Assist with the planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons, including creating resources and materials.
  • Provide individual and group support to students, including one-to-one tuition and small group work.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of behaviour support plans and strategies.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a consistent and supportive learning environment.

Requirements:
  • Level 2 qualification or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Experience of working with students with autism and associated difficulties.
  • Positive approach to behaviour support and a commitment to creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
