We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Designer to join our team at Cavendish Nuclear, a leading provider of critical nuclear solutions. As a Senior EC&I Designer, you will play a key role in supporting and guiding a team of designers, ensuring the quality of output meets the required standards throughout the entire lifecycle from concept to in-service support.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist technical advice and guidance to other designers, ensuring design governance for technical standards.
- Work with a high degree of technical autonomy, promoting effective co-operation across Design and other functional teams.
- Allocate discipline tasks to a team of designers, check team drawing outputs, and ensure inter-discipline coordination in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
- Assist in effective management of the customer, including liaison and relationship development with existing and new customers.
- Contribute to the preparation and production of drawings in support of basic, detail, and production design in line with recognised ISO standards.
- Assist in the resolution of production and technical queries, and develop discipline solutions for the team in relation to manufacturing and installation issues.
- Develop innovative design solutions and fulfill Design Lead responsibilities as assigned for multi-discipline low-risk projects.
- Maintain awareness of developments within the industry, particularly for techniques and tools, physical integration, bill of material controls, and management of design maturity.
- Experience in a detailed design environment.
- Good knowledge of CAD tools.
- Knowledge of General Engineering Drawing Practice.
- HNC/HND minimum in a relevant discipline or equivalent academic qualification.
- Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
