Lead and Manage the Leisure Plus Programme

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage the Leisure Plus programme at West Berkshire Mencap in Newbury, supporting Service Users with learning disabilities and developing the cookery sessions, as well as providing any additional support that a Service User needs to help them to reach their potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and lead the Leisure Plus programme, ensuring it meets the needs of Service Users with learning disabilities.
  • Develop and deliver cookery sessions, as well as other activities, to support Service Users in reaching their potential.
  • Provide additional support to Service Users as needed, working closely with the team to ensure their needs are met.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to develop and implement strategies to support Service Users with learning disabilities.
  • Ensure the programme is delivered in a safe and supportive environment, adhering to West Berkshire Mencap's policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Experience of working with Learning Disabilities, although not essential.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • First Aid qualification, or willingness to undertake First Aid training and any other relevant training.
  • Commitment to Equal Opportunities and understanding of Disability Awareness.
  • Willingness to undertake mandatory training and any other training deemed relevant to the role.
  • Willingness to assist with personal care, with training provided.
  • Ability to work at other Adult Day Services projects within West Berkshire Mencap.
