About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Lead Speech and Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at Active Care Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Speech and Language Therapy service, ensuring effective delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Speech and Language Therapy team, ensuring effective delivery of the highly specialist SLT service.
  • Plan and prioritize a complex clinical caseload, providing advanced specialist Speech and Language Therapy assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing.
  • Take a lead role in diagnosis, problem formulation and planning of rehabilitation programmes within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide intervention as part of an MDT approach and lead and implement MDT service developments.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of interventions using valid and reliable outcome measures and adherence to UKROC Database measures.
  • Ensure effective and timely communication at all levels (with patients, families, the MDT and external agencies).
  • Develop and deliver in-service education and training programme for the wider MDT.
  • Keep people safe from harm and protect their human rights.
What You'll Be Doing

As a Lead Speech and Language Therapist, you will be working as part of an enthusiastic, supportive, and experienced multidisciplinary team, ensuring effective delivery of a highly specialist SLT service. You will be responsible for leading and managing the Speech and Language Therapy team, ensuring effective delivery of high-quality patient care.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • HCPC registration
  • Postgraduate dysphagia training

Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience working at Band 7 level in a neurorehabilitation setting
  • Supervision experience
  • Ability to manage a complex case load independently with proven expertise in the field of neurorehabilitation
