Role Summary:
We are looking for an accomplished finance expert with a strong leadership background and a commitment to achieving financial excellence. The Finance Controller will play a crucial role in our financial operations, reporting directly to the Finance Director. Candidates with experience in Wealth Management or Insurance are particularly encouraged to apply.

Key Duties:

  • Direct and oversee the Finance team, ensuring precise and timely financial reporting.
  • Manage the month-end closing process and prepare management accounts.
  • Enhance processes and controls with a focus on automation and efficiency.
  • Maintain a strong financial control environment.
  • Supervise Accounts Receivable and Payable teams for effective transaction management.
  • Ensure adherence to FCA regulations, CRS/FATCA reporting, VAT submissions, and R&D tax credits.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to your team, promoting professional growth.
  • Collaborate with Operations to streamline process efficiency.
  • Coordinate with auditors and external advisors for annual reports, accounts, and tax computations.
  • Oversee payroll management and cost control for business protection.
  • Manage cash flow reporting and oversight.
  • Support the transition to a unified general ledger/ERP system.
  • Uphold financial policies and ensure compliance with established processes.

Experience & Expertise:

  • Background in financial services such as banking, investment management, or insurance.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK GAAP.
  • Extensive experience with Sage, including analysis codes, integrations, and automation.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (knowledge of SQL, Python, or VBA is advantageous).
  • Experience in general ledger migration, including project management, mapping, and reconciliations.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
