Job Overview:

Leonardo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Initiatives Manager to join our UK Strategy and Technology team. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our Capability and Innovation Director and other senior leaders to deliver our strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain a network of trusted relationships across the company, including senior leaders and employees seconded externally, to gather and analyze strategic capability development information.
  • Facilitate meetings chaired by the Director, ensuring agendas are comprehensive and actions are recorded and completed.
  • Prepare briefs for engagements, extracting key information and highlighting critical items for immediate attention.
  • Develop and collate presentations and speeches for the Director, tailoring content to specific audiences.
  • Support the communications team with speech writing, ensuring content addresses the needs of the audience and aligns with the Director's delivery style.
  • Review requests into the Director's office, providing summaries and recommendations to optimize response efficiency.
  • Manage and amplify communication flow into and out of the Director's office, including feedback on communication effectiveness.
  • Track actions set by the Director and ensure timely completion.
  • Provide on-site support for exhibitions and conferences attended by the Director.
  • Maintain awareness of business activity across the company and the global defense industry.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with senior leaders and diverse stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, with advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, with short deadlines and limited instruction.
  • Strategic problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach and strong initiative.
  • Experience working with MOD and UK Government stakeholders on capability development.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Understanding of business agreements and critical terms.
