About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Collections and House Officer to join our team at the National Trust. As a Collections and House Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the preservation and accessibility of our historic house and its collections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the daily opening of the house, ensuring a consistently high-quality experience for visitors.
  • Conduct routine conservation and preventive conservation activities to maintain the integrity of the house and its collections.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the presentation and accessibility of the house and its collections.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Collections and House Officer to ensure effective management of the house and its collections.
  • Collect and record information gathered during cleaning and housekeeping to improve our knowledge and understanding of the house and its collections.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in heritage preservation, conservation, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Knowledge of conservation principles and practices, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of care.
