KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

We are excited to announce an opening for a Laboratory Technician within our Quality Department. We seek a committed professional to play a vital role in the Dr. Oetker (UK) Ltd Laboratory Team, responsible for conducting a variety of analyses on raw materials, finished goods, and environmental samples.
A career with Dr. Oetker offers you the chance to:
- Execute routine analyses of raw materials and finished products following established procedures, maintaining accurate records and reporting any discrepancies for trend evaluation.
- Assist in documenting and investigating out-of-specification and non-conforming products.
- Conduct regular environmental monitoring and provide guidance to the hygiene team regarding cleaning protocols.
- Perform additional environmental assessments, such as air and water analyses, as needed, ensuring timely reporting of any discrepancies.
- Enter data and results into the SAP QM system and relevant databases promptly.
- Prepare necessary media for laboratory use.
- Register samples for external laboratory analysis and track results.
- Ensure the safety, legality, and quality of all products and processes within the scope of the role, fulfilling the legal duty of care to employees and others.
- Provide coverage as needed across all four laboratories, including Microbiology, Chemical, Raw Material Intake, and Food Technology.
- Support additional tasks as assigned by the Laboratory Manager or Senior QA Manager to uphold the Quality Assurance process.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 4 GCSEs in Mathematics and Science subjects or equivalent qualifications in Microbiology and/or food hygiene.
- Experience working in a laboratory or food manufacturing setting, particularly in a frozen food environment or quality assurance.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Word and Excel.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- High levels of accuracy and numeracy.
- Ability to interpret and assess results.
- Self-motivated with a practical and data-driven approach.
- Detail-oriented and flexible.
- A collaborative team player.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
