About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Ecology Team Lead to join our team in the Northern region. As a key member of our ecology department, you will be responsible for leading a high-performing team, driving new business, and nurturing client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and lead a high-performing ecology team within the Northern region (remote working options available).
  • Support and mentor team members, encouraging professional growth and a positive working culture.
  • Oversee the recruitment and development of staff, ensuring the team is structured for long-term success.
  • Drive team performance by setting objectives, managing workloads, and ensuring high-quality output.
  • Act as the face of the ecology department in the Northern region, representing the company at industry events and in client meetings.
  • Oversee the successful delivery of a wide variety of ecology projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Provide technical input and oversight on complex ecological and biodiversity projects, supporting your team's development.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards across projects.
  • Contribute to the overall business strategy for the ecology division, providing input into regional plans and long-term goals.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in ecology and biodiversity, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects.
  • Proven project management experience, including the ability to lead complex and diverse ecological projects.
  • Expertise in relevant environmental legislation and strong commercial awareness.
