Active Personnel Recruitment LTD is seeking a skilled HGV/PSV Technician to join our team in Cardiff. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for maintaining commercial vehicles and trailers to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain commercial vehicles and trailers to MOT standard, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest quality and safety standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all makes of vehicles and trailers, adhering to VOSA standards and regulations.
- Diagnose and rectify all types of faults, using technical knowledge and expertise to resolve complex issues.
- Attend to disabled vehicles at the roadside or at customer premises, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring all work is completed efficiently.
- Ensure all vehicles worked upon are handled carefully, and all precautions are taken to maintain a safe working environment.
- Liaise with the parts department to obtain necessary components, ensuring timely delivery and minimizing downtime.
- Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Complete all job cards and service sheets in a timely manner, ensuring accurate records and compliance with company policies.
- Maintain a high standard of product knowledge, attending training courses and workshops to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques.
- Perform general duties as required, supporting the team and contributing to the smooth operation of the business.
Requirements
- Ability to work within guidelines and to strict deadlines, demonstrating a high level of organization and time management.
- Ability to work under pressure, remaining calm and composed in challenging situations.
- Ability to actively seek solutions to problems, using technical knowledge and expertise to resolve complex issues.
- Ability to work as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to achieve common goals.
- Good verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues.
- Excellent customer care skills, providing exceptional service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements, maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to company policies.
- Technical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ qualified technician) or proven experience repairing and maintaining vehicles.
- Current driving license and LGV/HGV license.
