About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Exercise Instructor to join our team at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As an Exercise Instructor - Cardiac Rehabilitation, you will play a vital role in delivering a structured evidence-based exercise programme to patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a structured evidence-based exercise programme as screened and delegated by a qualified therapist in line with agreed local pathways and national targets.
  • Work in partnership with specialist nurses and exercise therapists to support patients in achieving their tailored, person-centred goals, reviewing and adjusting accordingly.
  • Assist with sub-maximal exercise assessments for a range of cardiac conditions.
  • Lead cardiac rehab exercise classes and deliver the physical activity component of the programme.
  • Manage and prioritise your own clinical workload, ensuring effective planning, prioritisation, and management of resources.
  • Participate in the effective reporting of feedback, incidents, and complaints, including submission of appropriate documentation to facilitate the investigation process.
Service Improvement

As an Exercise Instructor - Cardiac Rehabilitation, you will work with colleagues to develop current and new services and initiatives, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. You will also participate in organisational activities that create opportunities to improve patient care.

As a member of our team, you will have access to confidential information relating to patients and their carers, practice staff, and other healthcare workers. You will be expected to maintain confidentiality and adhere to our policies and procedures regarding the protection of personal and sensitive data.Health and Safety/Risk Management

You will be required to comply with Great Western Hospitals NHS Trust Health and Safety policies, following agreed safe working procedures and reporting incidents using the Trust's Risk Incident Reporting System.
