Job Summary:
The Pertemps Open University is seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing professional financial services to our business partners and unit teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Update staff cost forecasting systems from various sources and track staff recruitment with resourcing hub contacts.
- Manage staffing allocations and changes within HR systems.
- Set up and close projects on the SAP system, and invoice funders/customers in accordance with contract terms.
- Establish new business partners and request partner payments.
- Provide advice on financial regulations and procedures.
- Prepare, check, and process journals.
- Investigate queries raised by budget holders, interrogating finance systems to trace source documentation.
- Carry out additional duties as required within the team or in other areas within the division.
- Ensure system integrity on SAP and other finance systems as required.
Requirements:
- AAT Level 2 qualification or equivalent, with evidence of exam success.
- Recent, relevant experience working in an accounting environment, ideally within management accounts.
- Experience in costing, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and using financial functions).
- Familiarity with accounting conventions, financial regulations, and procedures.
- Strong analytical skills with a good understanding of bookkeeping and double-entry accounting.
- Ability to manage a wide variety of tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with confidence in dealing with people at all levels.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
