Financial Director

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our client's team, reporting directly to the Finance Director. This is a full-time, permanent position based on-site, with some flexibility.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in finance, with experience in managing a team and leading financial operations. They will be responsible for direct supervision of accounting assistants and credit control, as well as assisting the Finance Director with reporting and budgeting.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial systems, including Sage, and experience with full balance sheet reconciliations. They will also have excellent delegation skills and be able to manage a team effectively.
Responsibilities will include:
- Direct supervision of accounting assistants and credit control
- Assisting the Finance Director with reporting and budgeting
- Full reconciliation of balance sheets on a monthly basis
- Identifying training requirements for the team and providing training duties for new accounts staff
- Managing and creating month-end packs, including P&L, KPIs, and labour data
- Assisting with the annual budget process and ensuring data is certified
- Managing and coordinating monthly reporting, budgeting, and reforecast processes
- Daily monitoring and reporting of 8-week rolling cash flow
- Analysis of management data as needed
- Accountability for all HMRC reporting
- Overseeing the HR function for the department and supporting the HR function for the group
- Holding quarterly inter-department audits to ensure the integrity of financial data
- Monthly supervision of WIP and Stock audits
Requirements for the role include:
- Knowledge of a MRP system would be advantageous
- 5 years' experience in lead finance and nominal management
- Strong Sage experience essential
- Experience of full balance sheet reconciliations essential
- Financial compliance experience
- Strengths in closely controlling a month-end timetable
- Must have experience of team management and strong delegation skills
- Ideally fully CIMA/ACCA qualified as a minimum or QBE
