Job Title: AML Analyst

Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking an experienced AML Analyst to join their team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in undertaking AML processes such as Client Due Diligence (CDD), analysis, risk assessments, ongoing monitoring, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Review and assess the AML and reputational risk associated with new client and matter requests
  2. Perform CDD and screening for PEPs, Sanctions, Adverse Media etc., utilising trusted industry sources
  3. Undertake screening alerts making determinations on matches, escalating if required
  4. Document research and analysis completed on clients and/or matters in a manner suitable for review both internally and externally
  5. Monitor client's activities for unusual transactions after obtaining a good understanding of the client's business and related parties
  6. Perform investigations where there are ML/CTF suspicions regarding clients and/or matters and escalate findings clearly for internal review
  7. Develop relationships with key internal stakeholders: partners, associates, assistants, Conflicts and New Business Intake, AML team
  8. Assist with any other AML compliance related matters or projects as identified by the Director of Risk and Compliance
Requirements:
  1. Law degree/LPC desirable but not essential
  2. Strong understanding of AML/CTF requirements and financial crime risks associated with legal services in the legal industry an advantage but not a prerequisite as full training will be given
  3. Relevant AML experience, preferably in an international law firm an advantage
  4. Experience of AML/KYC/Due Diligence processes and systems a plus
  5. Experience with AML monitoring and screening a plus
  6. A very high level of attention to detail is non-negotiable
  7. A recognized AML/Compliance qualification is desirable but not essential
  8. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  9. Strong decision making capabilities
  10. Team player
  11. Must have sound judgment
  12. Able to work in a fast paced environment
  13. Good planning, time management and prioritisation skills
  14. Must have good knowledge of Microsoft office applications especially strong Excel skills
