Job Description

Wood is seeking a seasoned Electrical Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This hybrid role is outside IR35 for LTD or PSC companies.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have experience working on FEED projects and will be responsible for reviewing design packages for electrical systems and equipment. They will also prepare the Project Design Basis Document and produce technical reports and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Review design packages for electrical systems and equipment, including power and distribution transformers, motors, generators, high voltage/low voltage switchgear, and control equipment.
  2. Prepare the Project Design Basis Document as per the project scope.
  3. Produce technical reports and specifications for specific electrical equipment.
  4. Assist in the electrical activities of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors during the Front-End Engineering Development (FEED) and design phase.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  2. Certified Engineer desirable.
  3. Experience in design, engineering, and construction.
  4. Middle East experience is preferable but not essential.
  5. Familiarity with NEC, IEEE/ANSI, IEC, and other international electrical standards, best practices, and value practices.
  6. Experience with analogue and digital control systems, including Power System Automation (PSA), DCS, PLC, and SCADA controls.
  7. Thorough knowledge of the English language to perform in-depth analysis and studies, make professional presentations, and keep up with technical advancements.
  8. Ideal experience with Electrical Transient Analysis Program (ETAP) or similar software and all Microsoft Office.
