Logistics Route Optimization Specialist

Great Bear is seeking a dedicated Logistics Route Optimization Specialist to enhance our operational efficiency. This is a full-time, permanent position within our dynamic team.
Compensation: £35,000 per annum.
Working Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.
In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing delivery routes using our fleet, as well as coordinating with internal and external partners. You will manage the planning of vehicles and drivers across multiple locations while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently create and manage vehicle routes.
- Reassess and adjust routes to maximize current efficiencies.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics providers and suppliers to identify reload opportunities.
- Maintain accurate reports for operations and finance teams to ensure timely payments and revenue tracking.
- Ensure the transport management system is updated with accurate load information for seamless execution.
- Identify optimal external routes while adhering to market rates.
- Develop and maintain relationships with hauliers for ongoing support, especially during peak periods.
Qualifications:
- Holder of a CPC qualification, with both National and International preferred.
- Experience in Transport Planning within a direct delivery and depot trunking environment.
- Strong geographical knowledge.
- Experience with national networks and a holistic view of logistics.
- A collaborative team player with the ability to foster internal and external relationships.
- Proven experience in a cost and KPI-driven operational setting.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
