The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a highly skilled Senior Information Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Corporate Services department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality data analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze complex data sets to provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management teams.
- Develop and maintain business intelligence solutions using Power BI and other tools to support data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to determine data requirements and deliver tailored solutions to meet their needs.
- Present findings and insights to non-technical stakeholders using clear and concise language and visualizations.
- Contribute to the development of enterprise-wide data management strategies and processes.
- Investigate data quality issues and implement solutions to ensure data integrity.
Requirements
- Proven experience in data analysis and business intelligence with a strong understanding of data visualization tools and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify trends and insights.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality results.
- Strong understanding of data protection laws and regulations.
Working Environment
The successful candidate will work autonomously with minimal supervision, requiring frequent analysis and interpretation of complex data sets. The post holder will make specific recommendations to senior management teams and practitioners on the use of various sources of information, the results of detailed analysis, and improving data collection and audit.
