About the Role:

Innovate is seeking a highly skilled Director of Global Trade Compliance to lead the Export Control team and drive compliance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop the Export Control Team, guiding their functional growth and ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to succeed.
  • Compliance Oversight: Oversee Export Control Compliance by managing export license processes, conducting audits, and implementing best practices to maintain necessary processes and tools.
  • International Coordination: Coordinate with international compliance teams to align activities and approaches, ensuring a unified global compliance strategy.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and government entities, fostering positive engagement and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate and amend export control contracts to minimize liabilities and ensure compliance with organizational goals.
  • Process Improvement: Implement best practices and maintain necessary processes and tools for effective export control, ensuring the organization remains compliant and competitive.

Requirements:

  • Trade Compliance Expertise: Strong understanding of the commercial and cultural aspects of various export domains, including expertise in export license services and compliance.
  • Leadership Skills: Able to provide vision and leadership to the Export Control Team, supporting broader group commitments and driving compliance across the organization.
  • Relationship Building: Strong relationship building skills, with the ability to foster positive engagement with partners, suppliers, and customers.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Solid grasp of legal implications and regulations in export control, ensuring the organization remains compliant and up-to-date with changing regulations.
