About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our team at Direct Medics. As a specialist provider of inpatient and residential services, we make a real and lasting difference to the lives of adults, young people, and children with complex needs.

Job Summary

The successful applicant will be an experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist keen to apply their existing skills to working with adults in an eating disorders and related comorbidity service. They will be interested in the application of evidence-based approaches and keen to engage in evidence-generating practice throughout the specialised service and across the network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to achieve the best possible outcomes for adults.
  • Apply evidence-based approaches to working with adults in an eating disorders and related comorbidity service.
  • Engage in evidence-generating practice throughout the specialised service and across the network.
Requirements
  • Current HCPC registration as a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist.
  • Post-graduate doctorate in clinical or counselling psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 or those in lateral transfer) as accredited by the BPS.
  • Knowledge and understanding of eating disorders and related comorbidities (e.g. anxiety, trauma, depression, self-harm), and the impact these on both young adults and their families.
  • Desirable: Prior experience in eating disorders, experience working with patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder, neurodivergence, trauma, and personality disorders.
  • Right to live and work in the UK.
