Position Overview

The Structural Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the Engineering Line Manager, taking charge of projects within their designated authority and offering mentorship to junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting technical and feasibility assessments, including organizing site evaluations
  • Utilizing various software tools to create comprehensive structural designs alongside manual calculations
  • Collaborating with clients and a diverse range of professionals, including contractors and architects
  • Drafting contract documents and managing tender processes
  • Addressing design and development challenges
  • Overseeing budget management and project resources
  • Ensuring compliance with legal standards, including CDM2015, Party Wall Act, and regulations for listed buildings
  • Evaluating the sustainability and environmental impact of projects
  • Contributing to the marketing goals and initiatives of PACC
  • Assisting the director in the training and development of the engineering team
  • Supervising construction activities on-site under contract, preparing interim and final accounts, and managing claims and practical completion
  • Adhering to the Company's administrative, personnel procedures, and Health & Safety regulations at all times

Candidate Profile:

Qualifications: Degree in Structural Engineering (MEng or equivalent)

Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of consulting engineering, surveying, architectural, and planning practices, along with familiarity with current statutory requirements and technical guidelines
  • Proven experience in negotiation, supervisory, and leadership capacities
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage budgets on large-scale projects

Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong mathematical, scientific, and IT competencies
  • Ability to think analytically and manage projects effectively
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation
