A prominent Regional Waste Management and Resource Processing Firm is seeking an individual to oversee environmental, quality, and operational aspects to ensure comprehensive adherence to legislative requirements across their regional facilities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee the sampling, testing (including but not limited to regulatory classifications and loss on ignition assessments) and analytical interpretation of waste materials and resources managed by the organization – covering incoming materials, on-site evaluations, and assessments prior to disposal, reprocessing, or export to other facilities.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of industry regulations and implement best practices to guarantee the organization’s compliance.
- Conduct and supervise audits related to the aforementioned responsibilities, ensuring thorough evaluations throughout all business processes.
- Engage regularly with clients and brokers to ensure compliance with inputs and the removal of non-compliant contaminants or other undesirable materials.
- Collaborate with testing laboratories to ensure prompt, consistent, and high-quality reporting of sample results and analyses across all relevant facilities.
- Effectively coordinate and collaborate with colleagues, including peers, supervisors, and operational staff, to achieve organizational objectives.
- Generate operational reports as necessary, including sub-datasets required for any operational or business-related purposes.
- Participate in meetings as required.
- Guide and support the team to ensure timely completion of all necessary reports and information by set deadlines.
- Take responsibility for personal health and safety, as well as the safety of others during business activities, both on company premises and at client sites or elsewhere. Report any unsafe conditions appropriately.
- Assist the team in identifying new business opportunities and contribute to the growth and development of the organization.
- Manage any personnel assigned under your supervision, whether on a temporary or permanent basis.
- Attend training and development programs as directed.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, such as environmental or safety agencies, to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
