Moston is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Manager to join our team and play a key role in the delivery of our projects. As a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing change in accordance with NEC-based contracts related to the design of project works.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Change Management Process: You will lead the change management process for design-related aspects of the main contract and subcontracts, ensuring timely issuance and response to formal contract notices.
- Contract Administration: You will administer contracts, including the use of CEMAR, and coordinate the communication of notices between the client and subcontractors as appropriate for the main contract and subcontracts.
- Commercial Risk Management: You will maintain a risk register related to contract changes and prepare and assess quotations for Compensation Events under the main contract, supported by the technical team and project managers.
- Team Management: You will manage access to systems and assign permissions and authorities to staff as agreed with senior management, and mentor and manage junior staff, including apprentices, fostering their development and career progression.
- Reporting and Forecasting: You will provide regular and accurate reporting and forecasting, ensuring that the design is delivered within budget and forecast constraints.
- Essential Qualifications: BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience, and membership of RICS, ICE, or CIOB.
- Essential Experience/Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of NEC contracts, highly organized and detail-oriented, excellent written English, and strong IT skills, particularly with web-based software, Excel, and databases.
- Desirable Experience/Skills: Strong communication and leadership abilities, experience in managing and leading individuals and teams, strategic thinking in the context of change management, and expertise in managing and reporting on commercial risk and opportunities.
