Electrical Engineer Job Description

Verto People is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Ireland. As a key member of our engineering service business, you will be responsible for commissioning, fault finding, repairs, and inspection of electrical equipment, PLC & drive systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform commissioning, maintenance, inspection, and servicing of cranes and lifting equipment at client sites, including ports and harbours.
  2. Carry out commissioning, fault finding, repairs, and inspection on a range of electrical equipment, PLC & drive systems.
  3. Electrical component installation.
  4. Diagnose and repair issues with hydraulic and mechanical systems and equipment.
  5. Oversee the commissioning, maintenance, inspection, and servicing of various client mechanical equipment.
  6. Adhere to all site Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) requirements.
  7. Mitigate any potential environmental risks during tasks, ensuring all safety measures are applied, particularly in offshore settings.
  8. Travel outside the UK and Ireland as required to support other departments or for training purposes.
Requirements:
  1. Previous experience as a Service Electrician, Service Technician, Service Engineer, Crane Technician, Crane engineer, Hydraulic Engineer, Electrical Engineer or similar.
  2. Working within the marine, port & harbour crane industry.
  3. Commissioning and fault finding on electro-mechanical and/or hydro-mechanical systems.
  4. A technical electrical/hydraulic qualification, apprentice trained, HNC, HND, degree or equivalent would be advantageous.
  5. Full UK driving license.
