SEN Teacher SEMH Class Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join our team at a special school in South-East London.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a small SEMH class of 6 children in KS3, providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment that caters to the needs of students with social and emotional difficulties and autism.

The role offers a fantastic opportunity to work with a motivated and supportive team of SEN Teachers, with excellent support from dedicated teaching assistants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach a small SEMH class of 6 children in KS3
  • Provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team and teaching assistants
  • Contribute to the development of the school's SEN provision

Requirements:

  • Confident SEN Teacher with experience teaching SEMH children
  • Proven behaviour management in small groups
  • Previous special school, PRU or alternative provision experience advantageous
  • Passion for Special Educational Needs and teaching children with severe barriers to learning
  • QTS qualification
