Main Objective:

Impala Terminals seeks a skilled Terminal Operations Specialist to oversee the safe and efficient operation of our petroleum fuel storage and distribution terminal. This role requires a strong focus on safety, risk management, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the day-to-day safe operation of the terminal, including monitoring and controlling the movement of fuels by rail and land.
  • Coordinate the traffic desk, handling vehicle loading and offloading, and related documentation.
  • Operate automated systems within the control room, including gauging, storage tanks, pumps, valves, and pipelines.
  • Perform routine monitoring, testing, and checking of terminal equipment, and prepare for routine maintenance, including shutting down and starting up plant operations.
  • Develop and implement risk assessments and permits to work, ensuring compliance with company safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure the terminal is operating at optimal levels.
  • Work closely with internal departments, including terminal management, maintenance, and external stakeholders, such as terminal drivers and contractors.

Requirements:

  • Experience in terminal and rail operations, with a strong understanding of petroleum storage and distribution.
  • Excellent safety work ethic and adherence to company safety procedures.
  • Ability to work a 12-hour, 24/7 shift pattern in an external environment.
  • Physical fitness to perform tasks that require working at height and in confined spaces.
  • Full UK driving license and eligibility to work in the UK.
