Job Title: SEND Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic SEND Learning Support Assistant to join our vibrant secondary school in Rayleigh. This part-time role offers a unique opportunity to support students with special educational needs, helping them to thrive in an inclusive and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with special educational needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students in managing their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour, promoting a supportive and respectful atmosphere.
  • Assist students with daily tasks and routines, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs is preferable but not essential.
  • A passion for supporting students with SEND in a secondary school environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards helping students succeed.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from teachers and senior staff.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant certificate, are desirable.
