Role Requirements
This position is field-based, and candidates must possess a valid driving license held for a minimum of two years. Working hours are 43 hours per week with flexible start and finish times, typically from Tuesday to Saturday.
Essential Skills
The role necessitates a foundational understanding of the primary components involved in servicing and repairing heavy mobile plant machinery or similar vehicles, including engines, hydraulics, powertrains, and vehicle electrics/electronics.
Accountability
Responsibilities include attending customer sites as directed, performing preventative maintenance services, liaising with service controllers and customers throughout the process, ensuring high standards of work, and maintaining safety compliance before returning equipment to customers. Accurate completion of all associated documentation, including customer signatures, is required.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have either direct experience (approximately 3 years) in a related engineering role, such as automotive mechanic or HGV fitter, or relevant military experience (e.g., REME or military vehicle recovery mechanic). A formal apprenticeship with at least C&G level 1 is desirable, along with health and safety training, which will be provided as needed.
