Job Title: Policy and Public Affairs Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Policy and Public Affairs Specialist to join our team at the Mental Health Foundation. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the VOX organisation based at our Glasgow office.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the political landscape and parliamentary and governmental processes, with the ability to influence parliament and civil servants to achieve policy / legislative change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day management of a portfolio of campaigning and public affairs work, including occasional specific projects.
  • Engagement with external stakeholders to pursue the organisation's policy objectives and help to achieve policy changes at a national and local level.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including parliamentarians, civil servants, and other influencers.

Requirements:

  • A strong understanding of the political landscape and parliamentary and governmental processes.
  • Confidence to influence parliament and civil servants to achieve policy / legislative change.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
