The Role:
The Lead Maintenance Engineer is a critical position in supporting the processing facility, enabling customer-supplied medical products to be processed in a timely manner. This role requires a sound knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems, as well as experience with PLC/SCADA systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance and engineering, with experience in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate all planned and unplanned maintenance and calibration activities, ensuring necessary parts and equipment, contractors, and STERIS staffing levels are available to complete the work safely, efficiently, and to the required standard.
- Develop and implement a planned preventative maintenance strategy to deliver targeted improvements.
- Lead the development of specifications, installation, and operational qualification documents as part of the project plan.
- Review, trend, and present plant failure modes to generate areas for capital investment.
- Manage the maintenance budget to ensure costs are controlled.
- Ensure stock levels of high-usage and critical spares are maintained.
