Job Title: Senior Sister

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Sister to join our Critical Care team at London North West Healthcare NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing a team of nurses, ensuring high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our Critical Care services.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of nurses to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the development of Critical Care services
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
  • Manage budgets and resources to optimize patient care
  • Develop and implement education and training programs for nursing staff
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives
  • Participate in clinical governance and risk management

Requirements:

  • Current NMC Registration
  • First level degree
  • Post registration Critical Care Qualification
  • Evidence of current CPD
  • 3 years Professional clinical experience in Critical Care speciality at Band 6 or above in Critical Care
  • Highly developed clinical assessment and communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously with experience of successfully resolving complex problems
  • Ability to successfully manage people and change
  • Extensive experience in managing own workload / and leading a team
  • A knowledgeable clinician with the ability to apply evidence based practice
  • A sound knowledge of professional policies and procedures
  • A knowledgeable clinician with ability to ensure clinical governance is embedded into practice
  • A commitment to clinical supervision and staff development
  • Knowledge of research/audit processes and application
  • Proven ability to deal with difficult/sensitive situations
  • Motivated and able to motivate others

Desirable Criteria:

  • Extensive Critical Care nursing experience
  • Experience in HR and Management Related Issues
  • Understanding of budget management
  • A good understanding of current issues relating to the NHS
  • Experience in Policy/Service Development
  • Able to work at a high standard as stipulated in the General provision of Intensive Care document
