Main Responsibilities

The Automation Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all KION project contracts are completed on time, within budget, and to the agreed scope. This includes managing project implementation, developing project execution plans, and maintaining detailed project programs.

Key Accountabilities
  • Accountable for the implementation of projects in the UK and Ireland for STILL and Linde
  • Ensuring that all project contracts are completed on time, within budget, and to the agreed scope
  • Developing and maintaining detailed project programs
  • Identifying and mitigating risks
  • Ensuring projects run on time and schedule until completion and project sign-off
  • Developing necessary risk assessments and method statements
  • Clear documentation and ongoing communication with customers, internal, and external stakeholders
  • Managing any change requests and working with the sales team to manage any financial implications
  • Controlling 3rd party suppliers
  • Auditing suppliers' work and ensuring the required standards are met
  • Working within the required standards for each product range
  • Ensuring any site activity is carried out safely and complies with all legislation
  • Visiting the customer as required during the project
  • Ensuring key project milestones are completed with invoices issued and collected at the correct time
  • Understanding whether CDM regulations are applicable to any given project and managing accordingly
  • Ensuring necessary variation orders are quoted and orders received
Performance Measures
  • Health and Safety performance, including zero accidents and lost time incidents during project execution
  • Pre-sale against post-sale variation in gross margin
  • Project completion verses project plan (time)
  • Customer satisfaction
  • Variation orders achieved

Requirements
  • Bachelor, Master, or Diploma degree in engineering, logistics, or similar education
  • Good communication skills in English, further languages preferred
  • Willingness to travel
  • Robotics/mobile automation or VNA industry experience in a project management-related role
  • Several years' experience working in the materials handling business
  • An understanding of materials handling flows within warehouse operations
  • Confident communicator to all levels of stakeholders both internally (e.g. Directors) and externally (e.g. customers)
  • Being able to work autonomously
  • IT literate – including intermediate PowerPoint, MS Power Point, and Excel, and ideally Microsoft Project
  • Full driving license
