Overview: We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a new Software Licensing and IT Governance Specialist to become a vital member of our expanding IT department at Burges Salmon. In this position, you will be instrumental in managing the firm's software licenses, ensuring adherence to vendor contracts, and contributing to IT governance discussions aimed at achieving service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact for all inquiries related to software licensing.
- Provide essential licensing information to budget managers to facilitate effective software renewal processes.
- Support the collection and distribution of software updates from vendors to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to enhance IT governance discussions.
- Assist the Infrastructure and Security Manager with Azure billing and budget reconciliation tasks.
- Co-facilitate IT governance forums, including preparation, facilitation, and follow-up on action items.
- Collaborate with SMEs to conduct annual reviews of application services and update operational documentation as necessary.
- Participate in the IT Change Advisory Board (CAB) to ensure all changes to software versions and licensing costs are accurately recorded in asset repositories.
- Maintain and regularly update the Computer Asset Register.
- Support the IT Service Management Specialist in the development, maintenance, and implementation of ITIL policies and procedures.
- Assist the Project Management Team and colleagues in executing the Services Transition process alongside the IT Service Management Specialist.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Visio.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Exceptional communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with ITIL (Version 3 or later) concepts is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of software applications commonly used in UK law firms is advantageous but not essential.
