Job Title: Motor Vehicle Technician

We are seeking an experienced Motor Vehicle Technician to join our team at Pybus Recruitment Ltd. Our client is an automotive retailer representing prestigious luxury car brands throughout the South of the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and rectify vehicle faults using diagnostic equipment and a systematic approach.
  • Meet with customers to identify and clearly understand problems as and when required.
  • Ensure full understanding of latest technology introduced on the vehicle range and how to diagnose and repair faults on them.
  • Carry out diagnosis, repairs, and servicing to the highest standards and to the appropriate specification.
  • Ensure all work is carried out observing safe working practices of self and others.
  • Liaise and seek advice from colleagues and supervisors in situations that are over and above work specified.
  • Check level and quality of work through use of diagnostic equipment and road testing vehicles after work has been carried out. Liaise with Service Advisor.
  • Complete relevant service documentation (job sheets, PDI, service reports) in line with brand standards, warranty, and site requirements.
  • Complete vehicle health checks and CitNOW video in a timely manner (or equivalent).
  • Ensure that workshop housekeeping standards are always maintained, including the use of special and personal tools.
Requirements:
  • The knowledge to use modern diagnostic equipment.
  • The capability of working to the highest quality standards.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
  • Prior experience of working to efficiency targets.
  • A full UK driving license.
  • Experience within a main automotive dealer preferable but not essential.
  • VOSA approved MOT tester an advantage but not essential.
  • Must hold Level 2 or Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair NVQ or equivalent.
