CNC Machinist Setter Job Description

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist Setter to join our workshop team at Plowman Brothers, a leading manufacturer of livestock transportation equipment, water treatment solutions, and premium agricultural products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine setup, including tool selection and setup, G Code and offline programming
  • Operating a range of machines, including twin spindle lathes and 4 Axis Vertical machining Centres, bar fed lathes and drilling beds
  • Producing high-quality components using lathe and milling work on modern CNC machinery
  • Maintenance and upkeep of machines

Requirements:

  • CNC milling and turning experience
  • Good knowledge of efficient machining techniques
  • Ability to create, set, and prove out programs
  • Previous experience of honing programs to reduce cycle times and improve part quality
  • Adherence to health and safety practices within the machine shop environment
