HGV Workshop Manager Job Description

Job Title: HGV Workshop Manager

Location: Bristol

Salary: £50,000 per annum

Shift Pattern: Day Shifts

Job Type: Permanent

Holt Recruitment is seeking a skilled HGV Workshop Manager to join their team at a well-established commercial vehicle fleet company. As a key member of the workshop team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance and repair of commercial vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Active participation in meetings to discuss workshop operations and goals
  2. Dealing with repair orders and ensuring timely completion
  3. Issuing and explaining repair order specifications to team members
  4. Monitoring and reviewing vehicle off-road cases and scheduled work onsite
  5. Adjusting resource planning in the Dealer Management System
  6. Reviewing and approving completed repair orders
  7. Handling all necessary documentation and ensuring compliance
  8. Ensuring the availability of workshop equipment and tools
  9. Monitoring health and safety regulations and ensuring a safe working environment
  10. Conducting performance evaluations and providing feedback to team members
  11. Supporting the team and maximizing workshop performance

Requirements:

  1. Experience in an operational service industry involving high customer expectations
  2. Experience leading and developing a team
  3. Experience in customer contact and supplier management
  4. Technical knowledge gained through technical qualification or relevant experience
  5. Understanding of compliance associated with Heavy Goods Vehicles
  6. Understanding of the connection between quality, customer satisfaction, and business success
  7. Understanding of connected vehicles
  8. Basic computer skills as well as general business knowledge
  9. Knowledge of service-relevant applications
