Position Overview

The role entails managing order processing for scheduled contracts and overseeing supplier delivery performance in alignment with MPS and business objectives.

Your contributions will be directed towards achieving supplier and business performance targets, particularly concerning the delivery of procured components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely delivery in accordance with operational performance standards from suppliers, managing a budget of approximately £10m.
  • Oversee supplier scheduling in alignment with MPS and maintain the accuracy of supplier and procured parts data within the MRP system to mitigate shortages and eliminate excess inventory.
  • Maintain daily updates of supplier promise dates to ensure the most current and precise information is reflected in supplier schedules.
  • Assist the Procurement Operations Manager or Site Procurement Manager in executing the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process related to external supply evaluations.
  • Manage supplier relationships to guarantee fulfillment of committed orders, identifying supply risks, constraints, and bottlenecks, and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Conduct external capacity assessments in accordance with MPS.
  • Drive ongoing improvements in supplier performance.
  • Foster supplier relationships and maintain daily communication.
  • Ensure multi-functional team reviews are conducted with key suppliers.
  • Engage in daily communication with internal stakeholders and receiving departments.
  • Adhere to standard procurement processes and manage daily tasks effectively.
  • Oversee the supplier scorecard process to ensure that supplier performance is communicated at all levels and reviewed regularly as part of multi-functional team evaluations.
  • Support Supplier Quality Engineers (SQE) on supplier non-conformance issues and manage supplier returns and claims.
  • Facilitate prompt supplier payments by resolving any invoice discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified or possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in Supply Chain Management or Procurement roles.
  • Proficient in IT, particularly Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Business Administration is advantageous.
  • NEVI 1 / MCIPS certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MRP systems is desirable.
