About the Opportunity:

Our client, a distinguished and successful blue-chip manufacturing firm, is seeking a Product Innovation Engineer to become part of their team on a full-time permanent basis. If you possess the necessary qualifications and experience, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the New Product Introduction (NPI) for tailored projects, product modifications, range expansions, and enhancements to standard products, guiding them from initial inquiry through to production, including cost estimation, conceptual and detailed design, prototyping, and the creation of production drawings and work instructions.
  • Strive to surpass customer expectations by developing well-designed, thoughtful, and aesthetically pleasing products.
  • Deliver exceptional and timely service to internal stakeholders, including Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance our products and processes to boost market appeal, profitability, and quality.
  • Represent the company in meetings, client visits, and site surveys as required.
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols to ensure personal and collective safety.
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
Candidate Profile:

  • A degree in Product Design or Industrial Design is preferred, or a HNC/HND with a background transitioning from manufacturing to design.
  • Proficient in 3D design, with familiarity in Solidworks.
  • Experience in design and development within a dynamic manufacturing setting.
  • Competent in both 2D and 3D CAD software.
  • Highly numerate with strong IT capabilities and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Possess a clean, full UK driving license.
  • Experienced in creating manufacturing drawings and clear, concise work instructions.
  • Skilled in producing 3D visuals.
  • Knowledgeable in CNC Programming.
