Pathologist Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant to join our team of expert pathologists. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic histopathology and cytopathology services to our patients.

The Consultant will be based at our Winchester site, which is also the laboratory processing hub site. The post is intended to be full-time and will involve working across two sites, with the possibility of working remotely. The Consultant will be expected to have broad general experience in diagnostic histopathology and cytopathology, with a particular interest in developing specialist reporting of pseudomyxoma specimens.

• Provide high-quality diagnostic histopathology and cytopathology services to patients
• Develop and maintain specialist reporting skills in pseudomyxoma specimens
• Participate in daily rotas of surgical cut-up and reporting, including major cancer resections
• Report non-gynaecological cytology samples
• Contribute to the implementation of the Trust clinical governance programme, including clinical audit and quality clinical guidelines pathways

The successful candidate will have a wide experience of histopathology and will be encouraged to develop an area of specialist interest that will complement that existing within the department. The Consultant will be expected to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
