Accounts Assistant - Wealth Management

Our client, a rapidly expanding Wealth Management firm, is seeking an Accounts Assistant to support their growing operations.

The Accounts Assistant will undertake a variety of Accounting and Administrative duties, which include preparing financial statements, bookkeeping, reconciling bank accounts, assisting with payroll, and ensuring the accuracy of customer and financial records.

What you can expect:

  • Salary range of £23,000 - £27,000 PA (dependent on experience)
  • 24 days of annual leave plus public holidays, increasing by one day for each year of service up to a maximum of 32 days
  • Options for flexible working arrangements
  • Pension plan with a 4% employee contribution and a matching 4% from the employer, increasing to 6% after five years
  • Life insurance covering 4 times the annual salary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare working papers and draft financial statements for review by senior team members
  • Conduct monthly bookkeeping for clients and communicate with them for necessary information
  • Assist senior staff with various accounting tasks, including cash flow analysis and forecasting
  • Handle administrative responsibilities such as correspondence, filing, and document printing
  • Maintain precise and comprehensive customer records and establish new customer accounts
  • Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Manage monthly direct debit collections and process payments
  • Prepare and input journal entries into different accounting systems
  • Assist in the preparation of audit working papers and respond to audit inquiries
  • Monthly reconciliation of balance sheets
  • Support monthly payroll processing (Sage Payroll)
  • Address accounts payable inquiries

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar position
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • AAT qualified or pursuing ACCA or ACA qualifications
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret financial data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in data collection and analysis
  • Outstanding listening and presentation skills
