We are seeking a highly skilled Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Officer to join our team at The Maine Group. As a key member of our organisation, you will play a crucial role in shaping our Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning strategy.

About the Role

The MEAL Officer will be responsible for providing high-quality analysis and reporting from grantee data across our growing grantmaking portfolio. You will work closely with our Programmes and Learning functions to ensure that our monitoring tools are in place and that we are collecting and analysing data effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the Programmes and Learning functions to ensure high-quality analysis and reporting from grantee data.
  • Analyse grantmaking and other programmatic activity to inform our strategy and decision-making.
  • Use a range of methodologies and tools to provide qualitative and quantitative data analysis and insights to colleagues across the organisation.
  • Support programme design and ensure that appropriate monitoring tools are in place for donor-funded programme activities.
  • Contribute to global programme strategy development and support advisory boards with data analysis.
  • Make recommendations for the UK and/or global organisation on MEAL infrastructure and tools.
  • Assist in the development of a strategy for data collection, analysis, learning, and accountability.
Requirements
  • Significant experience in a similar role undertaking monitoring, evaluation, learning, and data analysis in a charitable, environmental, development, social justice charity or grant making organisation.
  • Track record in data collection, monitoring, and analysis, with good working knowledge of a range of qualitative and quantitative methodologies, tools, and systems.
  • Higher-level qualifications/certification in a relevant field, post-graduate qualification preferred.
  • Author of MEAL-related reports or academic publications.
  • Ability to coordinate and improve the process of data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience in managing datasets, databases, programming, and other analysis software.
  • Exceptional written, expository, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel within the UK and internationally.
