We are currently seeking a Land Development Specialist to play a pivotal role in identifying and securing new locations that align with our strategic objectives. This role entails working closely with landowners and agents to negotiate leases, ensuring adherence to regulations, and preparing sites for future development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the development team to identify and evaluate potential sites for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), wind, and solar projects in targeted regions.
- Formulate and execute land lease/acquisition strategies for greenfield, existing, and acquired projects.
- Conduct research and compile necessary documentation for easements or leases from public records.
- Engage with landowners and deliver presentations to facilitate project agreements.
- Negotiate and secure easements/leases for BESS, wind, and solar projects, along with related agreements.
- Work alongside the legal team to ensure precise and comprehensive agreements and heads of terms.
- Assist project management efforts, including planning applications and coordination with external planning consultants.
- Organize and maintain project and landowner documentation and records.
- Support the development team in advancing projects towards a 'shovel-ready' status.
- Maintain and update the landowner database.
- Stay updated on relevant regulations affecting the development of battery, wind, and solar projects.
- Take ownership of assigned projects, managing deadlines, objectives, timelines, and success metrics.
- Proven experience in energy development or land promotion, particularly in project development.
- A proactive mindset with a strong desire to take ownership of projects and be evaluated on their success.
- Confidence in initiating contact through both cold and warm leads.
- Solid understanding of the planning system as it pertains to energy developments.
- A strong interest in renewable energy development, with an established network within the industry.
