Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and physically fit individual to join our team as a Street Scene Operative. As a key member of our cleansing team, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of tasks to maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of our public spaces.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clearance of fly tipping, flyposting, dead animals, and other responsive requests
  • Driving street cleansing vehicles and carrying out cleansing work as directed by the Street Scene Supervisor
  • Use of mobile technology to identify and complete responsive requests from the public
  • Reporting and removing fly tipping, flyposting, and dead animals identified during the completion of duties
  • Covering weekend cleansing priorities as part of a rota, including cleansing of the Town Centre and removal of fly tipping across the Borough
  • Reporting cleansing standards before and after work carried out
  • Reporting graffiti identified during the completion of duties
  • Working with the Environmental Enforcement Team to ensure evidence is captured and intelligence is shared
  • Reporting any accidents and near misses identified during the working day
  • Carrying out Health and Safety checks on vehicles and dynamic risk assessments of work to be carried out
  • Reporting any vehicle defects to the supervisor and in the defect book
  • Completing drivers' working hours logbook
  • Covering when required for other drivers, including mobile teams and inspection-based teams
Essential Requirements:
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Experience of working in a service delivery environment or equivalent with good customer service skills
  • A commitment to a high standard of service delivery
  • Experience in using mobile technology solutions to report issues and complete work requests
  • Good levels of personal fitness and the ability to work outside in all weather conditions
Essential Qualifications:
  • NVQ Level 2

Please note that a full UK Clean Driving License is required for this role.
